Tip tornado sport reel seat size

I have a ABU griplok 25.2 mm on mine had the century one on first but it kept falling apart, if your using a 6500 reel size it needs well tightening down to grip reel alright with 525's

ive got the original reel seat myself i dont like it ...i think i will put the talon on mine ...or possibly griplok ...just remember the butt is 25mm diameter

Is this the same for the metal banded spigot 1 ?
Sorry I should have said that in the first place

Thanks for the replies

I just done a wee search there so I'm considering the griplok the fuji or splashing out on the talon, I dont mind paying for the dearer 1 but what would you go for ? a local shop does the griplok otherwise it's the internet

I find the century reel seat supplied ok on the 1" butt, apart from the fact that if it fu*ks up I'll have to cut it off somehow as it won't slide completely off the section.

Won't it just come off if you take the butt off ?

Na mate, I can slide it so far down and then it becomes stuck. Twisting and pulling very hard won't get it off without damaging the butt section covering for sure. I've been meaning to deal with it but aint got around to it yet. It's always in my mind when tightening the seat up that it may break and then it would be sesh over before it even started. This post has just reminded me that I've got to get it sorted.

I read that coaster are ok for most grounds but are not to good for rough snaggy ground which I do fish, and being a fixed spool user most of my life I think I'd rather stick to reel seats for multi's

Abu griplock

Abu griplock

I have used the 25mm sliding reel seat on my tip tornado sport - bought from NE tackle sunderland - no problems with reel seat

Picked up a abu griplok for £8 today, just to make sure I got the right size I took my rod into the shop and tried a few on as they didn't have their sizes marked on the box :) just as well I had my rod with me, was suppose to be on my way fishing at the time but there must have been a bad accident up ahead as the road just past the rest & be thankful (scotland) came to a stand still so U turned and on way back 4 police cars a fire engine and an ambulance passed :( .
No fishing but just hope noone was badly hurt or worse.
