Still finding it hard to get cheap 100+ 6/0 treble hooks.....only ones that seem to be very cheap are the fladen ones and after using a few fladen trebles last year i would not wish them on anyone..love the mustard ones but £14+ for 50 is alot.

Do what i do Richie, use single hooks, just as good and easier to get out of the fish.

ive thought about going up that road myself for a couple of years now but havent had the b---- to make the change:exclam: maybe this year:confused:assist hooks:question: and single hook on the pirk:exclam:the very thought scares me:eek:

When you start using single hooks on the pirk and you hit that immovable object on the bottom and are convinced you've hooked the wreck......... then suddenly the rod tip dips towards the sea and line peels off the reel , the rod tip bounces again as the fish does some gut wrenching head shaking and then through your high tec braid you can feel , almost hear , the hook tearing through the skin of the fishes mouth and then one more dive towards the wreck and the hook hold gives and all goes slack bar the weight of the pirk ....................... just tell yourself it was probably only a three pounder hooked in the tail and would have came off anyway even with a treble on :)

agree with Arthur and Sless, stopped using trebbles many moons ago, used 6/0 singles for many years, still caught as many fish, but not as many wrecks.
