If the media were to portray him as a terrorist which he was by his own admission ...... they would be in the wrong in the social eye .....
The man was brave enuff to murder 1000s of people for what he beleived in but not to die for his belief's. Bin laden althought I did and still do despise him and his followers they only did/doing what mandella and his followers did back then and him and many others are classed as heros for killing innocent women and kids
Please please people wake up and smell the bulls@it that they are feeding ya. If the man was to plead not guilty to all the charges fair enuff he would of been a man who dies for his beliefs however wrong they may of been but no he couldnt do that so did the man die a hero or a coward ??? Is this the reason they put a bullet in binladens head so in 27 years he crnt come out of jail as a hero???? Before anyone thinks it or asks I aint a racist not by a long way

Ok, fair enough but as I have said before, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and Mandela was a freedom fighter for me.
I've no doubt in the coming months there will be plenty in the media about the other side of Mandela, it will be up to people to weigh things up and make their own minds up about him.
While I do have great admiration for the man I also can't stand the blanket coverage in the media, I find it mawkish and a bit sickly.

rhetoric aside, bring it closer to home and how would folks be feeling in gerry adams or martin mcguiness pegged it and the media became obsessed with it, endless rounds of 'they were men of peace did great things' etc

The man was a legend because the media portrayed him as a freedom fighter. Would people think the same if it was brought on tiv our doorstep like binladen and Al quada brought it with 9-11 and 7-7 ???

Reason why I am so strongly opionated on the matter is my great aunt was married to a white south african and had lived out there for years they had to move 2 england with there 7 children due to the mandella regime my cousins had there friends murdered when they did nothing wrong they were young teenagers who wernt old enuff to have a political view. Lucky they had enuff money to move and a family here 2 come to otherwise who knows what could of happened

ive already stated my opinion of mandela that he was no different to the ira, and I don't want to cause offence here or start an argument, sorry if I do and im sorry for what happened to ur family but the white south Africans wernt innocent either.

What would the white english man be if we took it out on every muslim in out country for what bin laden and his followers did ...... then they pit the man up on a pettystool like he a god and a peace maker..... ballacks he was only in it for himself if he did care about his country he would of spent that 40 billion dollars as ya man said earlier in this post on education and hospitals for his people not arming them to the hilt with weaponry and letting ya capital city go to the dogs what did he give south africa freedom ???
