Cant really tell from the 1st and 2nd pics but the 3rd one is better. Given that water weighs 1kg per litre it's fair to say that a 2 litre bottle of coke would weigh well over 4lbs and seeing as the fish density would be greater than water I wouldn't doubt it made 7lbs on the scales. And even if there was a bit error in the scales, who cares! Cracking fish mate well done

I did the same maths last night - even went so far as to measure the length of a 2 litre pop bottle :red: (34cm'ish)

entirely feasible in my eyes that it weighed 7lb - and I've caught them from 1 to 11lb

complete shame your bonfire got p'd on mate - keep plugging away and hopefully you get a bigger un as well...it's bigger than my shore PB that's for sure :thumbup:

Well with this new fangled metric system and a fisherman's ability to embellish. I'm surprised it wasn't 12lb but who cares? It was a good fish. Don't let the site get you down. No matter what you post there will always be someone to P**s on your chips. That's life. Cracking catch.

the pier master knows fine well that people go on mate but as long as you behave he turns a blind eye.
i've fished it many a time when the pilot boat has come past the end and nowt ever happens either.
have you not climbed round the gate on shields pier andy lol

Same mate I've saw it pass I few times. We all obviously no not spoze to be on but we go on at are own peril. Nice fish by the way mate.
