Unbelievable

What is needed in this situation is a vehicle similar to Thunderbird 2 where the appropriate kit for the mission is automatically selected by a conveyor system underground. Then when the vehicle blasts it's way out from the brigade hut the offending fish guts are fried to a crisp by the rocket thrusters. Problem solved.
Keep Britain Tidy people.

Sounds like a plan Mark, Will see what i can fabricate tomorrow :p

The emergency as in the topic, If the vehicle is loaded outside the gates then its not safe wether there was fish guts or not loading a vehicle that close to the edge, Yes they should have discarded it when gutted but id say there was more important matters at hand than scooping fish guts over the side which wouldnt even take 10 seconds, Just my opinion

How would you feel if you or one of your family were the ones in need of assistance only to find that the crew were delayed or couldn't be deployed due to one or more of their team sustaining an injury slipping on fish guts whilst loading up the vehicle.

I would have been ****ed because a crew wasted time cleaning something that didnt need cleaning straight away thats how id feel,as said i know for a fact the vehicle isnt loaded outside them gates at night in the dark that close to the edge!!

Mess/ Waste

Mess/ Waste

This may be off thread a little but as we are talking about mess and rubbish, what is really f'ing me off lately is dog walkers not picking up behind their dogs!

Hard enough making your way in the dark with your gear etc and only a headlight to light the way without having to think about dodging piles of sh*t. Or when I take the little un with me on a day trip and have to watch where his feet are going too

Beaches, cliff top paths, proms, piers the inconsiderate dog owner knows no limits (not that they are all this way, same as anglers i guess :))

Thanks Mick nice to know some people appreciate what we do and don't think it's a joke or take the pee.

I am in no way ridiculing the volunteer rescue services. I think you do a fantastic job in some terrible conditions and I really appreciate the work you do. This thread is ridiculous though, just making light of a long ,boring ,tedious, unnecessary thread.

Was it essential to clean up a bit fish guts if someones life was in danger? No in my opinion i would have left any cleaning until the emergency was dealt with!
and what if one these slip on the guts of the mes they could of been badly injure and then they might not have been able to getto the recue if the

Sorry but you are wrong, the vehicle carries our basic kit any specialist kit is loaded just outside the gate nowhere near the edge of the pier as was the case on Wednesday.

Sorry but i dont believe it is!! So your telling me you park outside the gates then carry the "heavy kit" from the hut to outside the gates when it could be done just outside the garage?? And yes it is close to the edge especially when a vehicle is parked outside of it and i asked the question posts ago but you couldnt answer...just kept replying "depends on the emergency" Oh and NOBODY is laughing at or making jokes about what yous do!!

As you keep saying "in my opinion", yes everyone is entitled to an opinion but why would I make this up, it is our standard operating procedure which we have done for years!

Because a job like that is meant to be quick responce not drive out of a garage, then gates, then carry all the stuff from the hut over to the vehicle in the dark...doesnt make sense and very time consuming thats all

Ok going to call it a day on this as you obviously know more than me about brigade protocols, as you have mentioned you know things for a fact, which seems strange as I have never met you on our call outs observing our practices.
