Unbelievable

Dumping paper in the sea cant be to good either just take a plastic bag put you rubbish in then box it and bin it when u get home am a young angler and ive told alot of old timers to pick the litter up they drop

Was it essential to clean up a bit fish guts if someones life was in danger? No in my opinion i would have left any cleaning until the emergency was dealt with!

Same here mate as some ppl have stated it takes 20 seconds to through fish guts in the water so how did this delay them?or like u say could the fish guts not have waited till they got back?at the end ov the day wouldn't the gulls have ate them eventually.this thread is a big fuss over nothing in my opinion.ppl gan on like it was a massive clean up operation when all it was is a pile ov guts probably off only one fish so a bet u it was hardly anything there.

Yeah unfortunately this is becoming a problem on popular fishing marks in the NE Scotland also.

It is to the extent that there are mark i purposely avoid purely because i dont want to be associated with the mess that other anglers have left behind.

Simple things like picking up bati packaging, line cuttings and plastic bags just doesnt happen. But the one that really ****es me off is the new cardboard boxes with shreaded paper that a local Angling shop sell's Rag in scatterred all over the marks.

It take 30 secs to tidy up these things with abit of carefull consideraion.

The vehicle needs to be removed from the garage then depending on the emergency loaded with the relevant equipment, if you think it's safe to carry heavy gear in the dark while trying to dodge fish guts I think you need to think again. Plus it wasn't "a bit of fish guts" as you imagine it was a lot.

So the vehicle needs to be pulled right outside the garage then outside the gates where the fish guts would have been to be loaded?

We need access to both sides the rear and the roof, the vehicle needs to be clear of the gates in order to do this as some of our gear is quite large and heavy, again depending on the emergency.

What is needed in this situation is a vehicle similar to Thunderbird 2 where the appropriate kit for the mission is automatically selected by a conveyor system underground. Then when the vehicle blasts it's way out from the brigade hut the offending fish guts are fried to a crisp by the rocket thrusters. Problem solved.

The emergency as in the topic, If the vehicle is loaded outside the gates then its not safe wether there was fish guts or not loading a vehicle that close to the edge, Yes they should have discarded it when gutted but id say there was more important matters at hand than scooping fish guts over the side which wouldnt even take 10 seconds, Just my opinion
