Hmmmmm.......mebbies for a while, Jim.
This is the e-mail I sent to the lad who runs the webcam site..........
Hi there,
My name is Tony Cutter and I run a sea fishing website, www.nesa.co.uk
The site has been on the \'net for around 10 years and we have around 560 members at the moment.
For the past few years, I\'ve been going down to the coast to get photographs (when time allows) of the sea state to post on the site (many of the sites\' members live \"inland\" and having a photo of the current sea state made avilable to them often dictates where & when they are going to fish. It\'s also invaluable to to guys who go out fishing on their boats......we\'ve got one member who comes up to the N.E. from Nottingham and he sometimes relies on the photos to decide whether or not it\'s worth the round trip.
One of the members came accross your webcam.......I\'ve been hunting around on the \'net for the past few years trying to find just such a webcam. I was really pleased when I seen your site
If it\'s OK with you, I\'d like to put a link to your webcam site from NESA......it would save me having to go down to the coast to get an updated photograph.
You ask on your site if there would be any use in having live windspeed / direction information.....YES PLEASE. That\'s part of the information I include with the photographs I take (along with the times of high / low water.)
Thanks for providing such a useful webcam. If it\'s OK to have the link to your webcam from NESA, I can guaratee it will be WELL used.
TC
.......and his response today........
Feel free to link in. I currently get around 2000 distinct hits a day so it is taking off quite quickly. My main issue is that my service provider is now beginning to charge for the traffic throughput. I intend the camera to stay free, but I will probably have to look for a small sponsorship to cover it.
regards
Mark
Hmmmmm........I hope he\'s not looking to NESA to be his source of \"small sponsorship\"........
