Fished the tide up yesterday and what a pleasure to be out in what felt like spring weather. Small fish picking at baits all session and every cast the tip was nodding. Caught a few little tommies and a rockling (which I would have left out for an hour if I had known what it was). Stuck at it on big baits - yellows/blacks/frozen crab and got a half decent codling just after half tide which made a splendid supper. Glad to say there wasn't too much rubbish around but I cleared up what I saw. Someone had left a baited hand line hanging from the railings which I have to say I don't approve of. Met a lad who is up from Anglesey and we had some good craic about the fishing down there.

Thanks mate, forgot to say one of the other lads on the walkway caught a little pinky coloured fish like a cross between an eel and a lamprey. Could have been a hagfish ? First time I have ever seen one of those.

will have been a hadfish, horrible slimy things.

Nice codling mate. Yeah that sounds like a hagfish. Although it has "fish" in the name it's not actually fish at all but is an invertebrate. Horrible things.

Well done for picking up the other anglers rubbish. I to find myself cleaning up what other anglers have left and cutting up disgarded line. At least you were rewarded with a codling.:)
