looking at the nodules on the bonse it iz looking like plaice signs ..but the expert fishing bioligists might say different

Thats a cracker of a Flounder.
It will probably have spawned so might have gone the magic 3lb a couple of month ago.
There were a few big Flounder taken in the match on the Wear today,but not that big.....

There was one as big taken from timber beach today along with a fair few other smaller ones

cracking plaice m8, we had a few yesterday when we went to silloth and a load of dabs. i have a day off on wednesday so looking to head out.

Plaice or flounder ? could even be a hybrid of the two...a Plounder of Flaice anyway its a decent flatty well done.Dont laugh hybrids do occur although I have yet to see let alone catch one

think bigfen has hit the nail on the head, it certainly isn't a thorough bred plaice although it has some plaice characteristics and also some flounder characteristics, think somewhere along the line there has been some naughty goings on between plaice and flounder. If push came to shove I would say more flounder than plaice. But still beats that magical 2lb mark, well done Terry.
