whats the best oil??

hi all!
im going to be the proud owner of a abu mag elite very soon(my first mag reel)
was wanting to know whats the best oil to use on it??
have heard that yellow rocket fuel is the best but would like some more
advice please:):)
really chuffed i is:D:D never used a mag reel before cant wait any you lads got any tips on the mag elites too??
 
you are best off casting with the mags on full then slowly adjust it faster till u find ur desired setting . dunno bout ur oil my 6500mag runs on 10w/40 :)
 
yellow rocket fuel will do the job,also tournament grade you can get,to be honest 3 in 1 will do the job for fishing and save you some money,you will probably get a tube of oil in the box which will be more than adequate......also might mention some bearings will come greased up on new reels so you will need to clean them and just add a tiny drop of oil to each bearing,put too much oil on and you will slow the reel down a lot.Agree with starting with the mags on full till you get used to it, reduce the mags as you become more comfortable with your cast.
 
cheers lads! its a 2nd hand one but in excellent condition so will have a look inside when i get it next week!! have heard a lot of people use 3 in 1:):) i use bisely gun oil never had a problem with my other reels but thought you mite have needed a special oil for magg reels!!
 
I've got the unmagged blue elites and they come with a tube of yellow and a tube of red. One drop every few months should do the trick (if you only use it once a week like me). I reckon at that rate the original tubes should last me till I'm about 150:D

pmsl!!:D:D:D once a week with me its more like once a month plus im married now so..... IM NOT GOING OUT AGAIN EVER AGHHGHHHHH:D:D:D:D:D
 
buy the way the reel im getting is 2nd hand and comes in a abu grey box! is there anyway to tell if its been made in sweden or asia?? footplate? any help would be good:):)

If it's made in sweden it'll have made in sweden stamped on the side plate:D
 
It all depends on how fast you want your reel to mate. The difrent grades of oli sit in the beaeings . So thicker oils will slow your reel and thiner oils will let it runn faster. The red rockt fule is a thicker oil than the yellow and the white thiner agine. My.6500ct rocket runns on the white rocket fule and free spinns for almost 2.5mins . And can get one hell of a cast . Hope this helps mate . Im gessing that your trying to tune your reel
 
aint even got my reel yet haha!! just trying to prepare for when i get it! me and the wife got abit of money off our wedding so ive treated myself:):)
got some f1 line to put on it aswell and if that fails ive got trusty sensor!!
plus getting my other abu reel overhauled aswell so happy days!!:D:D
