spotty dog tackle in stockton does mustad viking floatation suits, the two peice costs 79.99 and the one peice costs 69.99

Cheers Marc, doubt I\'ll be buying Titan goods in future, I found a site (swiftys) that has the sunridge SAS flotation suit for £69.99 :D

I found out about it Keith over on Eltons other site Anglersnet.

Same thread.

Hope its OK linking to it, Should be as it belongs to Elton.

I have just read this thread and the ref to the chap contacting Titan bemuses me,I have phoned Titan a number of times and were very polite and professional, fair enough he was\'nt satisfied with the product or the retailer and I don\'t want to go into discussion with a thread on a different site either,

Adding on from what you say Alan, I have never contacted Titan but I use Rods and Reels in Whitby all the time and have never had any problem. They are ALWAYS helpful. All I can think is that this guy must have gone in with a bit of a bolshy attitude. If you go in looking for a confrontation anywhere your not going to get any help. :D

I\'ve got bits and bobs by turning up at Titan\'s manufacturing bit at Boldon Business Park, it might be worth trying a blag and seeing what they can offer. They do have a trade counter of sorts at the factory. Obviously I support my local tackle dealers as well. And I\'m just thinking how i ended up at Titan, Hmmmmmmmm not sure, ring first!

I\'m not endorsing what was posted, But after seeing what happened to Keiths Salopetts first hand, mentionedto him the thread.

For what it\'s worth, this is my view on Whatevertex materials..........

Through many years walking & climbing, I\'ve had a number of \"Whatevertex\" material outershells; Goretex, Isotex, etc. all purporting to be \"waterproof\" and \"breathable\". The \"waterproof\" properties DO hold out.....UP TO A LIMIT.

I\'ve found that they are great to wear if you\'re not expecting the weather to be TOO wet. Now, I know that sounds a bit daft (and it is).......BUT........

The whole concept of \"breathable\" waterproofs was brought about by the need for efficient, but lightweight outershells which would\'nt make the climber sweat in high altitude mountaineering. Manufacturers such as Berghaus provided expedition climbers with such clothing, but soon realised that there was a huge consumer potential in the outdoor leisure market. Hence all the trendy looking (and extremely expensive) Goretex jackets you see being worn down the high street as well as in the hills.

The material was designed to protect the wearer in snow blizzards and I think that expecting it to perform in either heavy rain, or getting a soaking on a boat, is asking for performance beyond the materials\' capabilities. This \"expectation\" has been fuelled over the years by the garment manufacturers......and millions of such garments have been sold.......much to the manufacturers delight (and profit). I can\'t help but wonder just how many disapointed \"tex\" material users there are out there.

As regards Titan.......I\'ve been to their HQ on a couple of occassions. I\'ve ALWAYS found the owner, Alan and his son (also called Alan), aswell as the other staff there, very helpful.
As regard to Titantex (another \"tex\"), bear in mind what I\'ve already said about \"tex\" material.......it has its limitations.

Sorry to have gone on about this, but it really is a case of \"don\'t believe the hype\".......about ANY \"tex\".......whichever it may be.

Hang back for winter clothing ,Firms are bringing ut new lines this year and are fighting to cut each others throat. new suits for fladen/penn/ron thompson/sundridge/etc al at daft prices. the fladen suit has been the best on the market for a few years and everybody is trying tonick that market

You wanna get a patent on that suit Ell B4 someone nicks y\' idea.
Wor lass bought me the titantex waterproof smock last year for 65 notes and it\'s the dogs bollocks. Worn it in some atrociuos conditions and stayed warm and dryand had it on for a walk a month or two back at Boulmer on a sweltering day and stayed cool.

How\'s that new bib & brace performing, Keith?

Got some birthday money that\'s burning a hole in me pocket and I DO need a new pair for this Winter.

Billy, I know you said to \"hang back\".........any ideas as to how long.....lol

They seem fine Tony, I got the Ron Thompson Icelander Bib and Brace, they are defiantely waterproof, wore them a few times now and i just hang them on the line and hose them down after use.

Only thing I\'m not too keen on is the ankles are a bit wide, they are zipped but could do with some velcro or summit.

I still fancy a flotation suit for the winter, I see Sunridge have a new SAS 2 suit out!!! HINT HINT SANTA!!!!

I wasn\'t that impressed with the SAS 2 when I saw it. I prefer the old version with a bit more red. If I fall in I want to be seen! :D

The reason that Sundridge have brought out the SAS 2 (cheaper than the original) is that Fladen are shortly fetching out a new lower priced suit which will be one of the best around, or so I\'ve heard.

Thanks Keith......
Might have a trip over to Billys at the weekend.

Just had a look at them on Swiftys site.......I like the bit about \" These extremely durable thermal bib and brace have been tested in the harshest of arctic blizzards\"............just what you need at the 44 on a February night........lol
