youngster cleans up at Amble Open

The result has given alot of people something to think about for sure! She obviously had a game plan and it paid off! As said earlier, we'll done.. :-)

A big well done to the young girl I know the lads who were 2nd and third I think it helps if you have local knowledge and anyone else to do their homework no good fishing for fish that aren't there

Great win for her. I can't understand why anyone thinks a 12 year old can't have caught the fish. My 7 year old son outfished me 3 to 1 at Druridge at Xmas, including the biggest flatty of the lot. They were caught about 5 yards out in 2 foot of water.

Very well done that girl, great angling and to beat over 500 other match anglers makes it even more impressive.
Is she the first junior/lady to win the Amble Open outright?

as far as my records show she is the first junior to win any heaviest bag open, Pauline Ferry was the first lady to win a h/bag open another lady won a h/f open at Seaham, so it is a remarkable achievemnet, bet quite a few top rods went for flatfish on the day.

Congratulations to the lass . Hope she throughly enjoyed herself and carries on to win a fair few more in the years to come. Obviously some male egos have been serverly battered if theres controversy over it on the locker ! Suck it up boys :p . I get beaten by my friends 8yr old daughter everytime we go out , 6-1 last time out at blyth lol :D

Well done to the young lass! Didn't young Mathew Holdroyd (sp?) win some open when he was a junior Alan?

Gary :)

Havent read what has been said on Facebook but I coach Becca at fly fishing and she is a fantastic angler and a lovely girl. Her dad supports her all the way but she regularly hauls fish in at Chatton while her dad and me fish either side of her and blank.

Well done Becca :-)

well said and a big well done to the lass , goes to show any one can win if lady luck is on their side and a bit skill lol

well done

well done

We need to encourage the next generation of anglers, we older, and sometimes not much wiser, ones need to be put in our place occasionally. Well done on the result. The 2nd place junior, also a girl, so second lady as well, was fishing around 50 yards from me and was pulling them out from the first cast. She really enjoyed herself.

Pinched all my fish though :-) Managed a huge flatty myself, but it was anorexic on the atkins diet, so well and truly beaten on the day. Well done again

Congratulations on a win well deserved
