Had a few hours out tonight near to the Green wall at Seaham. Had a load of fresh crab and razer. Water was canny with some nice rollers coming in and was bitter cold, perfect I thought...Not a single bite in two hrs. Then to make matters worse, got a phone call off Gary Pye who was 10mins drive away, that he had some nice fish. Packed up and went to his location. He had 2lb codling 4lb codling and 14lb 8oz cod. Big fish was a cracker.
Fish all taken on lug/rag. didnt even bother chucking my crab bait out.
He ended up losing another 3 good fish, all within shocker distance.
He certainly is in a rich vein of form at the moment.
Taught him everything he knows :o
Ps I got a canny photo of the fish, so when I can manage to get it of my phone onto the computor, then onto the site, Hell will ov frozen over lol

Shaun, that mud is **** out ov the fish, it was full ov it. It also had about 10 small flatties in it, so it must ov been feeding close in.

Cracking fish but god knows how i would get up the side at Steetly.
easy mik ,strong 6 o hooks [viking or manta extrea] and a 80 pond shock leader ,a bit longer than usual so youve got hold of the leader while the fish still in the water ,i know ive done it matey :o,well done garuy you deserve it your keen as mustard mate:D
