Another canny session

Started off on cullercoats south pier over high water today getting bites every cast but got hung up with a fish and then pulled in a half pounder which was returned. Headed for Whitley beach as the light faded, first cast and straight into a 1 pounder followed by one around 1 1/2 then third cast missed a cracking bite, thought I was in for another good bag but things slowed as the water emptied out, a 100yd move produced a few more fish. 3 size codling taken for the family and two under returned along with two flounders.
