Best place you've ever fished (UK shore)

Balcarry bay,was over hung, badly:exclam: had to plod through farmers fields up hills down cliffs, was bad weather,I felt like I was at the end of the earth,a pal helping me carry me stuff managed to drop me bait box(dinner) off a cliff 200ft high,to say I was gutted would be an understatement :exclam::exclam::exclam:Any who, after me pal salvaged me bait(only after I threatened to Scran his) i set about fishing although I was scared for me life as it was rough as f@@k first cast ,30 secs later rod gets ripped of the stand= 2 dogfish for. 8lb,that carried on all day, odd thorn back couple congers and a KFC on the way home topped it off! Class day all round! .....went back couple month later n caught a single flattie lol,so if u go u want to go in conditions only a fool would fish in :D

pretty close to record dogfish you had there!! :o

Chesil Beach in Dorset for me. I get down there a couple of times a year and there's always loads of fish to be had. I had twenty eight fish over three evenings once. It's also the location of my one that got away story "it was THIS BIG !!!" :D The beach slopes down at 45 degrees so there is deep water right at your feet and a short lob get's you amongst the fish. Most of the locals target bass there but there are all sorts of other species to be had - codling, doggies, mackie, pouting, plaice, smoothounds and I've even heard of trigger fish being caught of the wreck at the Weymouth end. Love the place, going back again in May on my way to Cornwall, can't wait.

I wasn't aware the record weight was so low:o, there was loads of em getting caught all day,all around the same size aswell, next time I go I will weigh them more closely, might be a new record on the cards:D

Were they not bull huss they grow to double figures

My best mark i would say is a location somewhere on the mull of gallowayif i remember rr
Ightly between the two if us we had around 30 fish in about 2 hours

been to the mull 2 times and enjoyed every minute also wer squeezed in a few hours on the way back at whithorn :D

Beadnell beach, mid 1990's. Middle of the night, in January. Caught my personnal best Cod (12.lb). Used to frighten myself to death fishing alone, wondering who's out there watching:o.

Sheigra, North West Scotland, 2 year ago. There is a sort of wild camping spot, with an honesty box there, 100yrds or so down there is a nice bay and alot of rock marks. Cheap spinning rod and reel with lures, we got a nice few pollock. Like the carribean up there when you hit the right time. :D:D

Cambois pier Dec 2004, Day after a good north-easterly. Fished first windmill as the end was chocca. 9 fish for 62lb. (sadly no doubles). Most cod in a session was blyth beach. I managed 22 and my mate got 17. Also had hectic spinning sessions at the mull, eyemouth, torness and st abbs. roppa

That was Tynemouth---Whitleybay as back in the 1960s you could/nt fail catching cod pollack and whitings but so much has changed since then and i think the fish are not given the chance to breed as all the trawlersthat fish the north sea and i mean foriegn trawlers fish it dry okay:mad::mad::mad:
