Blyth Beach 16/11/06

Fished from 6pm till 11pm, infront of the caravan storage next to the port of Blyth entrance. We were about 50 yds to the right of the pipe.

As we were getting ready in the carpark, another angler pulled up and as we sorted out our gear he warned us about some drunk giving agro to anglers on the beach.

Sure enough as we walked onto the beach there was a bloke with a bag of cans sitting on the beach at the start of the pipe. We walked past him and nothing was said.

We set up and were fishing at about 6.20 , with low tide about 7ish. Lots of crab bites for the first hr then my mate Tom got 3 coalfish in consecutive casts all about 3/4lb.

I eventually managed an undersize codling, although the bloke fishing south of us managed a nice 2lber.

As the tide began to flood, we managed a few whiting and some more coalfish, although it was a shame to see a trawler working very close to the shore.

By the time we left at 11ish, we finished up with 2 undersize codling, 2 whiting and 7 coalfish. As we returned to the car, we were surprised to find the rear screens on our cars starting to freeze over.

Baits were rag, lug and squid.

Nice report m8

What about the gadgy with the cans though? I read the last sentence of your post with baited (HAhha HHA) breath about "the rear screens on our cars" and expected at least a minor breakage, your a tease stuey and you know it!

Charlie, nothing to report on the drunk front - and no damage to any of the fishermens vehicles.

Stickler, what makes you think that?
