Boat competition this Sunday

The re-organised boat competition in aid of the Newbiggin lifeboat takes place this Sunday, and at last, the forecast looks good. Hope to see a good turn out for such a worthy cause.

Hi lads
Due to a misunderstanding the wrong date was given.
The Boat Competition is definitely being held this Sunday - 27th September. It is sponsored by Sports & Leisure, Blyth and is being held in aid of the Newbiggin R.N.L.I. Register on the day from 7.30 am at The Royal Quays Marina, North Shields or beforehand at Rutherford Fishing Tackle Sunderland, or Billy's Tackle North Shields or Sports & Leisure Blyth. Entry is £10 all classes. This is a Heaviest Single Fish Competition - one prize one competitor. Fishing is 9 am to 4 pm with weigh in closing at 5.30 pm at The Royal Quays. The competition is open to all boats - private and charter - plus kayaks. There is a good prize list with a rod and reel for the heaviest fish from a kayak.

Heard 11lb ling won it by Merlin but not sure as only got it 3rd hand with being stuck at a wedding all weekend

Yer i got home and headed out 3pm till 6pm on Sunday to get my fix, not a great deal as that SE was building n little light left so limited to distance but i got 4 cod, 1 pollack and 1 ling and a few mackerel n whiting, nowt over 6lb thou...out Wedensday but its a huggggeeeee tide 5.7

All we got was maki tryed off the can then headed to marsden hoping to get a few grid refrences for some wrecks within 5 miles off pier of a m8 up marina as me plotters got nowt on it atm

What boat are you peter? i can drop some Long n Lats off for you for wrecks within 5miles, i am often down the marina n pop them in the boat...at least 14 i know off the top of my head in the 5 mile range from the piers.
