reel

my penn 525 super started making really bad sounds when casting anyone know whats up with it. thanks:confused::confused::confused:
ssounds like grit inside so just wants a clean

or one of the magnets has jumped its socket and doubled on another and catching the spool, so needs gluing down a spot of super glue should do the trick

other than that not know of any thing else that would make a noise when casting

Hi Steve and welcome to NESA. My guess would be the same as Bob's, if it has just started making the noise all of a sudden it could just be sand or grit inside. I've never heard the noise when a magnet jumps out of place so don't know about that but as Bob says, give it a clean and see if that works first. If not then you can start looking for something else after that.

Jim.

common for the magnets to jump across ,effectively doubling the braking of the reel and catching the spool, sounds like it needs a good old clean and servicing. aroldite the magnets in place generally remedies em.:)

a good wash in warm soapy water after each fishing trip does any reel the world of good

thanks had all reel to bits new grease the lot and still bloody making strange noises WTF. doing my head in well looks like i will have to strip it again :mad2::mad:
