Shields Beach - Saturday 10/08/13

Bit late putting this up, but only just got my pics on the computer.

Fished 1hr up and 2hrs down last Saturday morning from about 5.30am to 8.30am, on Shields big beach, near the pier. Used 2 rods, both with 3oz sliders and ragworm.

Casting fairly close, between 20 and 40yards with the 11ft rod and a bit further out with the 12ft rod, got all the fish close in on the 11footer.

You're certainly putting the hours in mate. There's always flounders in that spot for me, just no bass yet

no mate, right at the other end next to the pier, behind the fair.

Ah sound mate. Just casting away from the pier were you?

Just casting straight out, parallel to the pier, only casting out 40yards max, onto clean sand.

Theres a load of rocks along the side of the pier and they curve round onto the beach, i was fishing just where the rocks end and the beach starts.

The tide can wash a load of weed up, but the bottom is clean.
