army lads have side arms too real crab wars
at present there is no restriction on the amount of crab you can take at Silloth, any notices must have been put up by local anglers. Although the matter is going to be discussed by the powers that be but all concerned will be able to have their say, and this could take well over a year.

My old boss was Carlisle councillor in 2008
Iv asked him to find out if he knows or can get info on this.
He struggled to find much information on the subject, his only findings were in 2012 there was a very worrying decline in crab populations & associated problems relating to the decline, they were trying to put a limit in force of the amount people collecting & anyone that collected crab, mussel, queen scallop, etc etc must register online & carry a card with a I.d. number & if you were caught exploiting the quantity of bait taken you would get a strike 2 strikes resulted in a 6month ban on bait collecting & this was to be policed by Army & community police officers,!!!
This was thrown out due to the knock on costs of trying to put things in force, he reckons all of these rumours are "rumours"
& can't see how this system would work
He did say most of the current concerns are aimed toward the collection of bivalves & other shellfish!
He has contact with silloth councillor & is gonna ask him & let me know
I did contact the ministry of agriculture & fisheries who were as cheerful as a bucket of pi**y knickers & contact the head office in Fleetwood,
They didn't know of any restrictions
& mentioned contacting an organisation called c.e.f.a.s.
& Iv emailed them for any info they have

http://www.nw-ifca.gov.uk/ make and enforce the bylaw's out to 6 miles on that part of the west coast in England, as do our own on this coast, not CEFAS or any one else. I have spoken to them at length and have conveyed the message to Alan C who has told you there is no restriction at present. The signs we believe have been put up by local anglers after many complaints to NWIFCA about anglers from other parts of the country in the last few years taking more than they need. NWIFCA will look into this as all IFCA have to, they could make an emergency bylaw but would have one year to present the evidence to keep it, you as stakeholders are also entitled to have your say. I do wonder how we would react if this was the other way round.

Question, how come its ok for every tom, dick and harry to go over silloth and rape the living daylights out the place, yet as soon as someone mentions someones tyres there's kick offs ? Same thing theoretically, yes people have dug them in but the fact of the matter is no one owns anything below the HIGH water line, FACT. I am in no way enciting an argument, just wondering why people think they own patches of shoreline when they dont

Haha aye trevs tyres are good but wish he would clear the mud so we didn't get so dirty davey inconsiderate man lol
