i have just started fishing at roker and really enjoy it. Everyone i have meet are so friendly . I still do not know the best bait for what fish and dont like to ask,and i dont know how to do up different rigs is there any books that i can get or where can i get the info i need as i need alot of help as a beginner:) thank you .

welcome to nesa and as just been said you wont be needing books there is plenty of info on this site not to mention the help and info some of the lads are willing to give out when your out on the peirs and beechs just ask for a little help most folk will be willing to help you out if they can

welcome , best baits at the moment are prob crab and ragworm, when it gets a bit colder then blacks and lug will work better as well as crab if you can get it . during the winter a lot of anglers use combo baits like blacks and squid. mussel and frozen crab if you cant get fresh. sometimes you just have to fish with what bait you can get hold of.watch what the angler next to you is using and if he gets results copy him. he might be only casting 40 yards and getting fish and you cast 80 yards and get nothing .if you are unsure ask , most anglers will gladly give any hints or tips about where you are fishing at the time.
