I can't wait for the summer fishing me like. It's my favourite time of the year especially the pollack bashing. I like the winter fishing but never do so well getting decent coddies but lure fishing for pollack in the summer always gets me some good fish. Locally I've only ever fished SSP and Dunstanborough for pollack but this year I am looking to find some new marks close to home so if anyone can recommend somewhere within an hour or so drive of the Tyne I would love to hear about it.
In May I am off on my annual pilgramage to Chesil Beach where I will be species hunting with bait (guaranteed doggies, pout, poor cod and always the chance of a bass) and also lure fishing for bass and mackerel. From there we are travelling to south Cornwall for a week where I will be float fishing and spinning off various rock marks.
In August I will be doing some serious pollack bashing at my favourite mark in NE Scotland (Aberdeenshire). I lost some whoppers on the retrieve last year through various reasons but I am back this year to try again and hopefully keep some on my hook.
