Aye that's what I was thinking lol, defo seen better days ! As long as everyones ok.

It was only a matter of time before 1 hit the pier i was on last tuesday night and about 3 or 4 come within 20 yards all it takes is one bad wave to knock it of course but am glad they managed to escape with minor injuries could of been alot worse

Problem is plum if they have had a bulk of prawns he'll been relying on the auto pilot and skipper would have been on the deck with the other 2 deckies.many years ago a steel boat called the POLAR WIND mowed a coble down skipper on the deck helping out.not unless he's lost his steering.

A lad on the Fishermans Locker said that he was listening to what was happening on his radio and apparently it was the hydraulics including the steering that failed. All of the crew appear to be ok although one had a head injury and was taken to hospital.

The wife was sitting in Shields hospital and the skipper was in too, from what she has heard it has just been a momentary loss of concentration and he was unable to get the boat back on course. But after a whack on the bonce it could be different. Whatever has happened the skipper has done the right thing by beaching it rather than heading into deeper waters, probably saved his crewmates by doing so.

after reading old posts on how trawlers were deliberately steering close in to cut lads lines is it not possible the skipper was just being a n*b? or was no one fishing the pier at the time?
